Eddy Kenzo has been appointed as a presidential advisor on creatives by President Museveni

 

Edrisa Musuuza, also known as Eddy Kenzo has been appointed as a Presidential Advisor on creatives by President Museveni yesterday this   came up  after  his gesture of founding of Uganda Musician  Federation to unite Artist all over Uganda.

Eddy Kenzo, was born on March 25, 1989, in Masaka, Uganda. He grew up in a poor family with his mother, Halima Namawejje, a single parent who struggled to make ends meet. Kenzo’s father, Mbowa Mugisha, abandoned the family before he was born.

At age 6, Kenzo started living on the streets, surviving by begging and selling scrap metal. He attended Masaka Primary School but dropped out in 2004 due to financial constraints.

 

Kenzo discovered his passion for music while on the streets. He started singing in local talent shows and formed a music group, The Ghetto Kids, with fellow street children. They performed at local events, gaining popularity in Masaka.

In 2008, Kenzo founded Big Talent Entertainment (BTE), a record label and talent management company. He released his debut single, “Yanimba,” in 2010, which gained local attention.

 

Kenzo’s breakthrough came with the hit single “Stamina” in 2012. He followed up with successful releases like “Coke and Fanta” and “Kamunguluze.” His music style, blending Afrobeat, Dancehall, and Reggae, resonated with Ugandan audiences.

In 2014, Kenzo released “Sitya Loss,” which became a viral hit globally. He won the BET Award for Best International Flow in 2015, making him the first Ugandan artist to win a BET Award. He also won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite African Star in 2016.

Kenzo has collaborated with international artists like Rick Ross, Konshens, and Kcee. He has toured extensively, performing in the US, UK, Australia, and Africa.

Kenzo is a single father to daughter Maya Musuuza. He is passionate about giving back to his community, supporting various charitable initiatives, including education and healthcare programs.

5. Creative Economy (innovation, entrepreneurship, etc.)

Eddy kenzo’s role may include:

1. Policy Development: Providing guidance on policies that support the growth and development of the creative industry.
2. Industry Engagement: Liaising with stakeholders, including artists, producers, and industry leaders, to understand their needs and concerns.
3. Strategic Planning: Helping to develop strategies that promote the creative industry’s contribution to the country’s economy and culture.
4. Talent Development: Identifying and nurturing talented individuals and groups, and connecting them with opportunities.
5. International Representation: Representing the country’s creative industry at international events, conferences, and festivals.
6. Funding and Resource Allocation: Advising on funding and resource allocation to support creative projects and initiatives.
7. Copyright and Intellectual Property: Advising on policies and laws related to copyright and intellectual property protection.
8. Cultural Diplomacy: Promoting cultural exchange programs and collaborations with other countries.
